Our Apiary

Our Apiary is a precious support for all our members.

Open through the Beekeeping season.

From the start of April till the end of September.

Every Saturday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

and most other Saturdays in the winter period

by appointment with our apiary managers

Our support

Alan and Ian will be working with the bees, answering questions

and explaining what is happening in each hive as we go

through the season.

You will be encouraged to join in as your help would be

greatly appreciated..

 

New beekeepers are welcome as are all our member and our experts.

We are all on a journey learning from our bees.

They have been on earth longer than we have.

 

Questions and discussions are welcome.

 

Beginners courses

Every May we run beginners courses, part in the classroom.

and

practical instruction, demonstrations, and hands on

working with bees in our apiary.

At our Apiary

We have around 10 hives of bees at various stages of development

and we breed Nuclei from our domesticated bees in the season.

Quiet bees are most important when starting Beekeeping

and available to our members to purchase.

 

We have a wide variety of the various types of equipment

 used in beekeeping, all National hive parts, nucleus boxes,

mini nuclei boxes, feeders and bee escapes etc.

 

Our apiary is situated at Thrybergh Country Park.
